Sources: Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots game moved to next Sunday after new positive coronavirus test play 8:04 AM ADT
Mike ReissESPN Staff Writer
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Broncos-Patriots game that had been rescheduled to Monday is now being moved to next Sunday after the Patriots had one new positive test for the coronavirus Sunday morning, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Patriots were to be on bye in Week 6, while the Broncos were supposed to play Miami. The Dolphins-Broncos game is being rescheduled.
The NFL shut down the Patriots facility Sunday morning for the third time in 10 days while further testing is conducted, sources told ESPN's Schefter and Field Yates.
The Patriots had reopened their facility and held a practice Saturday after having been closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Quarterback Cam Newton, cornerback Stephon Gilmore and practice squad defensive tackle Bill Murray are currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Newton's positive test came back on Saturday, Oct. 3, which was when the Patriots were scheduled to travel to Kansas City for a game against the Chiefs the next day. But the facility was shut down, and players and coaches were sent home.
The game was moved to Monday, and the Patriots traveled that morning. Veteran cornerback Jason McCourty questioned whether the NFL was putting the team's safety first by not postponing the game.
Gilmore played every snap in a 26-10 loss to the Chiefs, and he tested positive for COVID-19 two days later. He was part of a group of close contacts to Newton who flew on a separate plane to Kansas City. Murray, the practice squad defensive tackle, had been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list the day before.
The Patriots had three straight days of negative tests before Sunday's shutdown.

Good. After bashing Manfred for 6 months, followed by a near-flawless season, they are now turning on the NFL.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the NFL is "optimistic" the Titans' Week 5 game against Buffalo will be played.
The Titans had another positive COVID-19 test Sunday morning, but it came from a staff member that hadn't been at the facility the last two weeks. That's a good sign for the chances of this passing through contact tracing protocols. Tennessee will still need to have no more positive tests before Tuesday for the game to be played. Source: ESPN

Big win for the Raiders winning at KC

Big win for the Raiders winning at KC I'm stunned. I think we're much improved over the past two seasons, but certainly not KC's level. I also don't remember the last time we beat a top-tier QB. That said, when we have all our offensive tools available, we can score on anyone. Ruggs, Ugholor, Edwards, Renfroe, and Waller are dangerous on every play, and everyone out of the backfield is a receiving threat. 11 different guys caught passes today. We still need better defense. We have some tools on defense, but not the depth. We can play well for about half a game.

That's a little odd. Generally, you determine that the lack of success is related to the personnel supplied (GM) or the way the personnel are used (coach). In this case, it feels like they are either blaming both, or cannot decide whose fault it is, so they made the only decision they could think of. I think Quinn can coach, but this is not my specialty.

Report: NFL considering Dallas, L.A. for potential playoff bubble Alex Chippin 2h ago
The NFL continues to mull the possibility of a playoff bubble, with the cities of Dallas and Los Angeles serving as potential options, sources told Lindsay Jones and Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic.
The league acknowledged in August it could institute a bubble for the postseason in order to guard against COVID-19 issues. The NBA and NHL both executed playoff bubbles to perfection, finishing their respective seasons without a single positive test for COVID-19.
Dallas and Los Angeles could serve as viable bubble sites because of their football facilities, hotel spaces, and climates, note Jones and Kaplan. The NFL has reportedly discussed the implementation of a bubble for the divisional round and the conference championships. The Super Bowl is slated to take place in Tampa.
After coasting through the opening weeks of the season, the NFL has encountered several recent issues stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. The league has already rescheduled several games, while the New England Patriots became the first team to have a positive test sideline a starting quarterback after Cam Newton contracted the coronavirus before New England's Week 4 clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Despite those complications, the NFL is reportedly not considering a regular-season bubble due to logistical issues.
