Pete Abraham @peteabe · 5h #Royals 5, #RedSox 3, final.
Sox are 42-28, Royals are 31-37.
Sox snap a three-game win streak and a six-game road win streak.
11 hits but 8 LOB and 2x9 with RISP.
"Weird game, right?" Alex Cora said. Weird and frustrating game. I really thought we would win this game, but that's the randomness of baseball. Eleven hits and only score 3 runs.

The consolation with last night's loss is that the Rays, Yankees, and Jays all lost as well.
We will win the next 2 games. Book it.

Game 71: Red Sox at Royals lineups and notesBy Amin Touri Globe Correspondent,Updated June 19, 2021, 16 minutes ago After falling to the skidding Royals on Friday night, the Red Sox will try and right the ship in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon. Martín Pérez is on the bump for Boston looking for a strong outing after back-to-back shellings - six earned runs in two innings against Houston, five earned runs in 1 1/3 against Toronto - that followed a strong May.
The Royals will throw Brad Keller on Saturday, the righthander having posted a 6.14 ERA in 14 starts this season. The Sox enter Saturday just half a game back of the Rays, losers of four straight. Notes: The Royals snapped a six-game losing streak with Friday’s win, having lost nine of their last 10 ... Martín Pérez has allowed 11 earned runs in 3 1/3 innings in his last two starts combined - Boston’s pitchers allowed a season-high 18 runs and 20 hits in Sunday’s loss to Toronto ... With pitching woes continuing, the Sox have won three of their past four games but have given up eight runs in two of them ... Xander Bogaerts’ 3.3 offensive bWAR is second among American League batters, trailing only Toronto’s Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (3.7). Red Sox Stats @redsoxstats · 7h Pivetta 4 HR in his first 11 starts, 6 HR in his last 13 innings. A major problem from his Philadelphia days that needs to be extinguished again. I think Pivetta's issue with Philly is that he pitches pretty well for decent periods of time, then derails, and doesn't get back on track. If Houck was ready, I might think about a spot start.

Christopher Smith @smittyonmlb · 1h Not sure I get the leadoff spot decisions. Obviously Santana is going to go 4-for-4 because I'm tweeting this but he's slashing .118/.211/.275/.485
